What is Delta 9 THC?
When people think THC, they’re often referring to Delta-9 – the cannabinoid molecule in marijuana responsible for giving a euphoric “high” feeling.PROPERTIES OF DELTA 9 THC
THC is one of the over 500 different substances in marijuana. When experts talk about THC products or legal marijuana, they’re usually referring to Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta 9). The chemical formula of delta-9 is C₂₁H₃₀O₂. It’s similar to Delta 8, except that one of the carbon-carbon double bonds is in a different position.
IS DELTA 9 THC LEGAL?
Each state has its own cannabis laws which are gradually changing. Many states don’t allow any form of THC for recreational purposes but may make exceptions for medical use. Other states say that Delta 9 is legal as long as it contains less than 0.3% amounts of THC and is extracted from hemp plants – which are federally legal to farm.
See the 2018 Farm Bill from the Food and Drug Administration for more information. Note: we ship Delta-9 nationally, but we have systems in place to ensure we only sell to states where it’s legal.

What is CBD?
CBD is short for cannabidiol. This is the second most active ingredient of cannabis, otherwise known as marijuana. It is extracted from the hemp plant, which is the cousin of the marijuana plant. While it is a component of marijuana, it isn’t known to cause a “high” by itself and is legal in all 50 states with varying degrees of regulations.FAQ's
DOES DELTA 9 GET YOU HIGH?
The Delta 9 variant of THC – the chemical compound responsible for the psychoactive effect of euphoria or a “high” feeling”. If you ingest enough THC, you will have this feeling. We have a couple of different products with Delta 9 THC. Our gummies include 7.5 mg of THC, so a high will be felt if you ingest a full gummy.
With that being said, we recommend that you stick with our serving size – a quarter of a gummy – when starting out. If you need to adjust, you should do it a little at a time to ensure you don’t feel any of the adverse effects of THC such as nausea, hallucinations, or paranoia.
CAN DELTA 9 BE SHIPPED?
Yes and no. In states where it is allowed, cannabis products such as Delta 9 THC can be shipped as long as there is less than 0.3% THC by dry weight. We will not ship Delta 9 if you live in a state where THC is still illegal.
WHAT IS STRONGER, DELTA 9 OR DELTA 8?
While similar in chemical structure, Delta 9 THC is more potent than Delta 8 THC. Our Delta 9 products don’t need to be synthetically recreated and are pulled directly from hemp and cannabis plants – making them stronger than Delta 8 THC.
IS DELTA 9 UNHEALTHY?
While research is still ongoing, we’ve seen many benefits for those who consume cannabis (Delta 9 THC) on a long-term basis. Of course, like anything in life, moderation is key. Whether you’re using it for recreational purposes or for therapeutic purposes, Delta 9 should always be consumed at the suggested dosage to prevent any adverse effects. After a 30-day period, you can adjust your serving if you aren’t seeing the results you’re seeking.
WHAT ARE THE POTENTIAL RISKS OF DELTA 9?
It is not unusual to feel anxious, paranoid, or confused if you’ve consumed too much Delta 9 THC. Other potential side effects include increased heart rate, nausea, vomiting, red eyes, dry mouth, rapid heart rate, trouble with coordination, anxiety, and memory loss.
If you are taking prescription medication or have struggled with substance abuse, we strongly recommend consulting with your healthcare provider first.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DELTA 9?
Delta 9 THC interacts with your endocannabinoid system to restore balance and promote calmness. While many people may use it recreationally to feel high, it also provides a host of health benefits. Delta 9 THC is often used for sleep issues, mood changes, stress management, pain relief, depression, and many other discomforts.
CAN YOU FAIL A DRUG TEST WITH DELTA 9?
Unfortunately, yes. Delta 9 is a variant of THC, which is naturally occurring in hemp. THC will be flagged in most drug tests since it is also a primary component of marijuana, which is illegal in many states. So, using a Delta 9 product will cause you to fail a drug test.
IS DELTA 9 THC THE SAME THING AS WEED?
No. Because Delta 9 is the most common form of THC, it is often compared with marijuana or weed. Delta 9 which is derived from marijuana (i.e. weed) is a controlled substance at the federal level. This purest form of Delta 9 has 100% THC and is illegal in most states.
The legalized form of Delta 9 THC (which is what Natural Ways sells) is derived from hemp and doesn’t contain any more than 0.3 percent of THC by dry weight. That’s why it’s usually available in the form of gummies where the concentration can meet those legal requirements.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CBD AND THC?
CBD and THC are derived from hemp plants but interact with your body differently. Cannabidiol (CBD) is extracted from the hemp plant and is usually formed into gels, tinctures, creams, and other edible products. It doesn’t give the “high” feeling commonly associated with THC. CBD is federally legal in all 50 states.
THC is the main psychoactive compound in hemp plants responsible for that popular high feeling. It can be consumed by smoking cannabis. It’s also available as oils, tinctures, capsules, edibles, and more. THC products are illegal to sell and consume in most states, but in recent years, has started to become available as long as it contains less than 0.3% of THC by dry weight.
